Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida
HISTORY
Since it’s founding in 1989 by Jim Nathan, Sheriff Mike Scott and a group of local leaders, the Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida has worked to provide prevention resources to families in Lee County. Prevention events include Drug House Odyssey, Red Ribbon Week Celebrations, Town Hall Meetings and Lunch and Learn Educational Events.
Our Goal is to Mobilize 12 sectors of the community, including: Youth, Parents, Businesses, Media, Schools, Youth Serving Organizations, Law Enforcement, Faith Based Community, Civic and Volunteer Groups, Health Care Professionals, State, Local or Tribal Agencies, and Other Organizations Involved in Reducing Substance Abuse.
MISSION
Our Mission is to “reduce substance abuse in Lee County by raising awareness of prevention resources through collaboration, education and inspiration.”

- Sponsor, participate, join a team for our Busey Bank Run for Prevention.
- Help organize a Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Prevention Club at your school, organization or church
- Host a showing of the Drug House Odyssey Video at your church, organization, or home for teens that you care about. Use the discussion questions to talk about making good choices
